ART PROGRAM

Browse Our Art GalleryRancho Valmora provides a powerful Art Program. The mission of the Art Program is to teach students the skills necessary to create fine art in a variety of mediums. Art is taught for technical and aesthetic excellence.

Mediums include: drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, woodcarving, drama, outdoor murals and drumming.

A secondary mission of the Art Program is to allow the student’s to explore therapeutic issues through the medium of art. Art provides a medium in which students can discover alternative ways to communicate issues of importance to them and to express feelings that may not be communicated verbally.

By engaging in such exploration and communication, students often reach a better understanding of themselves and their challenges.

Thus, while we do not dilute the focus of our therapeutic milieu by adding an "art therapy"curriculum, we recognize the importance of our student's artistic expression in their healing process and work to integrate this process into the PPC model.

Rancho Valmora’s Art Program is accredited through NCA-CASI and is integrated into our school curriculum.
